Company About Atlantic Wood Industries Atlantic Wood Industries had its beginning in 1901 as the Atlantic Creosoting Company. Back then, its wood treating was limited to railroad crossties, most of which were shipped to fruit companies in Central America. The history of our company is one of continuing growth in production capacity, distribution points and product development. We have grown to be one of the largest producers of quality treated wood products in the United States, and our customers span the globe. Today, Atlantic Wood operates five wood treatment plants, in four East Coast states from Georgia to New Jersey. Each of the plants has been strategically located to take advantage of raw material resources and truck, rail and water transportation. Our largest plant has direct access to ocean-going vessels which facilitates the company's export shipments and domestic deliveries along the coast. In addition, the company maintains distribution yards along the East Coast positioned to enhance our ability to serve all of our customers. The expansion of plant sites has resulted in a corresponding diversification and growth of the Atlantic Wood product line. The range of pressure-treated wood products has grown from the original crossties to include utility poles, bridge timbers, foundation and marine piling, and structural lumber. In addition, we own and operate two pre-stressed concrete plants which manufacture piling, beams, and slabs, making our diversification even greater and marking our commitment to meet the ever-changing needs and increasing demands of our customers. Since the turn of the 19th century, Atlantic Wood Industries has been a leader in developing new manufacturing and processing techniques to broaden the applications of chemically preserved wood. This ongoing research, and our company's active support of supplemental research by the country's top engineering schools, has produced products of superior quality and reliability. Atlantic Wood offers the services of highly qualified production and sales teams with many years experience and knowledge of treated wood applications. This personal dedication to product quality has made Atlantic Wood Industries what we are today…an industry leader. We stand ready to serve you. |
